Development and Production

The New Holland TM155 was built at the company's Basildon plant in Essex, England — the very same factory that produced Ford's much-loved Series 10 tractors a generation earlier. Introduced in 2002 as part of the TM range, it sat near the top of the six-cylinder line-up, just below the TM175 and TM190. The TM series inherited the engineering pedigree of both the Ford and Fiat marques following their merger under CNH, and the TM155 quickly earned a reputation across Britain and Ireland as a versatile, hard-working, do-anything tractor for the mixed farm. Big enough to pull a serious plough yet nimble enough for loader and yard work, it became a common sight on medium and large holdings throughout the early 2000s. Production continued until around 2007, when the range was succeeded by the T7000 series.

The smooth 7.5-litre six delivered its power with the kind of torque that made light work of ploughing, baling and heavy transport alike. The powershift transmissions let the driver change ratios on the move without touching the clutch, while the roomy, quiet cab — with air conditioning as standard on many models — made long days in the field far more comfortable than earlier generations allowed. Options such as the SuperSteer front axle gave a remarkably tight turning circle for a tractor of its size, and Terraglide front suspension smoothed out rough ground. Reliable, genuinely capable and simple to maintain, the TM155 remains a firm favourite with working farmers and a growing band of enthusiasts who prize it as one of the last of the classic blue New Hollands.

Recent Auction and Used Prices

The TM155 continues to hold its value well. Recent European listings have shown clean, well-kept examples asking between roughly €31,500 and €41,800, with the price largely determined by year, hours and condition. A tidy 2005 machine with a Power Command box recently listed at around €34,485, while higher-hour examples sat nearer the €31,500 mark. Across the Atlantic, a 2005 MFWD model fitted with a loader was advertised at about $69,500, reflecting strong demand for these dependable workhorses on both sides of the water.
